Helloooo,
So it has been a few days since I wrote my last message. I am here for more than one week now and today the 'real Erasmus life' has started officialy. There has happened a lot since my last message, so here is an update:
Shabir left on wednesdayevening and the moment I was walkin of the parking-lot where we said goodbye, a girl asked me the way to the closest supermarket. We both found our accents look like Dutch and guess what, we were right. The girl, Anna, is also doing the same minor as I am, so it was a big coincidence. She borrowed my bike to go to the supermarket and invited me for a wine after she was home.
Thursday I had a pretty relaxed day. I went running and found out Denmark isn't flat at all. Those hills can be pretty steep, especially in the park. Friday I went to some second-handstores and Ikea with Anna. My room is decorated with a lot of (crap)stuff now. I will post some pictures later this week.
In the weekend I went to the shopping-centre closeby called City Vest. The rest of the day I did relaxed things because I was pretty tired of the party the night before. On sunday I went for a run again and now I was prepared for the hills, but not for the rain. It was dry when I started, but the moment I arrived at the park the rain was terrible and my clothes were soaked in two minutes. In the evening me, 2 other Dutch girls and some boys from Cameroon played a card-game named Ezelen (translated in English it is Donkey). The guys didn't know the game and as soon they found out the rules they were tricking eachother all the time, pretty funny to see.
Monday was relax-day again and today was my first day at school. We had to start at 09:00 and that is pretty early after a couple of weeks holiday! I have a really nice class with a lot of girls and only two boys. Today we did introduction-games and we had a tour around the school. The building is a departement of the VIA University College and is pretty small and looks really cozy (gezellig). After school we went to the sea with a small group. Aarhus is located at sea and there supposed to be pretty nice beaches, although we didn't find them today.
Now I am pretty tired of all the new impressions and talking English the entire day so I think it will be an early night! For now you can enjoy some pictures I made when Shabir was here, and from today at the 'beach', ánd ofcourse the university.

Just a short message
Hello readers,
Just a short message to tell you I changed the layout. Now it looks a bit more like a nice blog to read ;-)
Shabir is leaving in one hour. He likes to drive at night because there is not a lot of traffic at midnights. It was really nice that he was here the first days. We explored the city, had a check at my univeristy and went shopping in Ikea. But now I will be on my own for the next 4,5 months. Pretty strange idea, but I am sure I will meet a lot of nice people and have an amazing time here!
Oh, I have Wifi now, so you can contact me via Whatsapp again if you want!

Safely arrived and settled
Hej!
My first post from Denmark! I arrived sunday-afternoon and my buddy Eva was already waiting for me to hand me the keys to my new home for the next 4,5 months. The room is 16m² and I have also a small bathroom. I share the kitchen with my 11 flatmates and we have a common livingroom. The neighbourhood is like the North of Amsterdam: a lot of different cultures. So I live in my future-work area now ;-)
The appartment-block where I live is one of the, around, 9 blocks. It is a closed terrain which only can be entered when you have a key. In all blocks live students and there is a real competition between the buildings. In this competition all buildings have to do several things (throw a party, sport-tournaments, funny games, etc) to earn the price for best building of the terrain. I think my block will be lucky with me because I'm pretty competitive and when I start a competition I want to win!
Yesterday (monday) Shabir and I cleaned my entire room because there was a pretty bad smell and it wasn't really clean. We also went to IKEA for some stuff like a nightlamp, kitchentowels, etc. In the afternoon we walked around the city-centre of Aarhus. It is a pretty big centre with a lot of shops. It is definitely bigger than Zwolle. I haven't expierenced the nightlife yet, so I can't say if it is better than Zwolle before I now how (and if) the Danish can party ;-)
Shabir will stay untill wednesday-evening and then I am really on my own. My study starts next tuesday (26th) so I have some days to discover the area and get to know my flatmates.
Byeee!

PS. Oh, did you know everything is named by me? I see a lot of Frederic/Frederika on signs and even streetnames!

One more sleep
Just one more sleep before my Erasmus-experience will start. I'm not really nervous, but more really excited and curious how it will be. My bags are mostly packed (ofcourse, waaaay to many stuff) and I bought a lot of food for the trip.
I will depart tomorrow-morning with my boyfriend Shabir. He will bring me to Aarhus by car (what a luxury!) and he will stay there with me untill thursday. Today my parents will celebrate their birthdays so the whole family will be together. It is not a goodbyeparty for me (I don't like goodbye-things) but it is nice to see everyone just one more time before I leave.
Oh, just one more thing. You probably noticed this blog is in English. (oh, really?) I choosed to write in English because I want to improve my writing and this is a good way for me to practice. If you notice strange grammar or mistakes, just tell me! I can learn from that!
For now: ADIOS AMIGOS! See you again in December!
